The house used to be owned by Winifred Ashton actress author artist and screen writer. These conversions provide a perfect location for couples or a small family wishing for a relaxing week s holiday in a superb setting excellent for bird watching with views of the surrounding countryside. Situated on the Devon Dorset and Somerset borders the cottages provide the perfect base from which to explore the three counties. Devon with its rolling hills and moorlands Dorset for its world heritage coastline and Somerset famous for its picturesque villages and bustling market towns. The market town of Axminster is 1 mile away with shops inns restaurants sports centre and the famous River Cottage shop recently opened by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. The Axe Valley provides lovely walking opportunities and there are many coastal walks along the Dorset and East Devon Heritage coastline. Charmouth Bridport Lyme Regis Sidmouth Beer and Branscombe are all within easy reach. There are many local attractions including Abbotsbury Crealy Bicton Park Burrows Farm Gardens and National Trust properties including Killerton and Knightshayes Court and guests are sure to enjoy returning home after a busy day out. Play facilities: in the owners large shared garden with tree house play equipment swings and wendy house. Outside: use of the owners large enclosed garden. Amenities: bed linen towels electric and central heating included. Wi-fi available. Regret no smoking. Regret no pets. Location: pubs shops restaurants 1 mile sandy beach at Charmouth 10 minutes by car. Stylish accommodation offering TWO bedrooms: upstairs double luxury en-suite shower room with skylight located over the shower and WC. 3 steps leading to 1 small twin room with 2 6 beds and limited headroom. Bathroom: on the ground floor with bath and WC. Galleried landing area overlooks the ground floor open-plan living area. Lounge/kitchen/diner: with TV/DVD DAB radios/CD/iPod dock and woodburner (first basket of logs included) comfy seating and dining area. Kitchen area is well-equipped with dishwasher electric oven hob and hood fridge with small freezer compartment and microwave. Amenities: allocated parking for 1 car outside the property. Additional info: use of spacious laundry room adjacent to the property. 2 stairgates and bed guards available. Large wooden cot available on request ( 15 per booking including bedding). Arrival: 3.30pm.

If you're looking for a countryside retreat within easy access of the coast Axminster is a great choice. Set in East Devon, along the A35 between Honiton and Bridport, with its own train station on the London - Exeter line, Axminster is both easy to find and a good base for exploring the surrounding area. The town continues to manufacture its world famous Axminster Carpets and the factory outlet on the edge of town is well worth a visit, as is the town centre with its selection of interesting shops including the relatively newly arrived River Cottage food store and restaurant made famous by the TV series.
